Article ' THE FAIREST ROSE MAY BE WITHERED'
THE FLASH
(ideas, happenings, advice,... All in a FLASH!)_
There are things that sometimes got hidden from our sights or maybe we might be too absent minded, unobservant or head over heels to honour their presence every now and then.
I am someone that is used to surveying every billboards and signposts that is stationed by the roadside each and every time I am in the bus or cab to a place. I like to feed my eyes enough with printed and unprinted information.
There is this route I do ply, mostly every time, on my way to school and I am (maybe I am not) well habituated with the area like the surface of my palms. But there was a day I saw a quote on a big billboards right across the road that enraptured my attention. The quote reads:
' BELIEVE IN SOMETHING EVEN IF IT MEANS SACRIFICING EVERYTHING .'
When I saw this, I was like, ' Wow'. How I have been missing this edifice of word is something I couldn't explain.
Expectedly, I started ruminating over what I saw pertinaciously during the period of my adventure in the cab. Then, I concluded that it is surely a welcomed idea to believe in something. It is positive to believe in your ideas, your initiatives, your projects, your proposals, your anticipations and subsequently works towards achieving it. But the point whereby you have to sacrifice everything you have over what you believe in is what I will not advise anyone to do. There is a maxim that advises one not to put all of one's eggs in single basket in order for you to have something worthwhile to bank on later in the evening when those you put in the basket during the morning period got perished by undefeatable circumstances.
Like I stated above, it is good and praiseworthy if you believe in something. Very good. But do not ever sacrifice everything, because what you believe in might later turn negative in the end. What you believe in might betray you. What you believe in might deny and defy you at the end of the day.
Now tell me, if such happens, who would you hold responsible?
Whose feet would you impregnate with your tears?
Unto which ancient rock would you raise your face?
A word is sufficient for the sagacious ones.
